International Friends Embrace the Spring Scenery

A group of foreign friends tried Chinese paintings in the beautiful scenery of Miaoyuan Village, Jiuhua Township, Kecheng District on April 9th. They used Chinese brush to paint on rice papers and attracted many villagers’ attention.

The opening ceremony of building “Chinese Cultural Great Wall” by international friends was launched on that day. This activity attracted more than 40 international friends who were from the delegation of Confucius College of the University of Nottingham (the British juvenile table tennis delegation) and from other countries, such as Germany, US, Russia, Australia, India and so on.

Peony is in full blossom in April. Gorgeous peony was placed along the side of mountain stream. Foreign friends took out their cameras to take pictures. “I like this small village very much, not only because of its beautiful scenery, but also because of its honest people.” Xieyi, an overseas student from Kyrgyzstan, told us.

Jiang Hongsheng, one of the people organizing this activity, is a native of Jiuhua Township. He founded the “Red Peony Painting and Calligraphy International Exchange community” in Ningbo five years ago, which was dedicated to the international teaching of Chinese painting and calligraphy and promoting Chinese culture. Under the guidance of Jiang Hongsheng, foreign friends picked up Chinese brushes to paint. Peony bloomed quietly in their works.
